Our Mission

Empowering Wellness For All Through Healing Touch

My name is Liz and I'm the owner of Tranquility Lodge Therapy.  Having spent lots of years working in Customer Services in a variety of sectors and when facing redundancy in 2016, I did a complete change of career and trained in Swedish Body Massage.  A year later, I then moved my treatment room from the spare bedroom and into a lodge in the garden.

Over the following few years, whilst also working in a new job as an Administrator,  I trained in a number of additional treatments including Hot Stone Massage and Deep Tissue Massage - I just loved seeing clients leave my lodge more comfortable from their body's niggles than when they walked in.

Massage therapy not only helps to treat specific areas but will also help to improve circulation, reduce pain and soreness and help to improve flexibility.   It will also reduce stress and anxiety and in turn this will help to improve quality of sleep,  Treating yourself to 'some time' out is so important not only for our mental health but also to help deal with the challenges of every day life.

Knowing what it is like first hand to have receive a Cancer Diagnosis, (I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2011), and the rollercoaster of hospital appointments and treatment, I also know how it feels to be turned away from having a beauty treatment because I was still "receiving cancer treatment" (I had finished active treatment but was on Tamoxifen tablets for 10 years).  Since then, this has led to a personal passion that nobody should be made to feel the way that I was in 2013, and so in 2018, I set about training in Oncology Massage.  I finally qualified in 2022 (delayed a few years thanks to the pandemic).

Everyone who has received a cancer diagnosis will know how important it is to have some time out of the cycle of treatments, hospital appointments and to have some time to be 'normal' again.  And that is exactly what I want you to have when you book a treatment with Tranquility Lodge Therapy.

A cancer diagnosis gives you a different outlook on life and now that I turned 50 at the start of this year (never really knowing whether I'd hit the milestone, because you don't!), I have made the decision to leave my administration role and concentrate on massage and facial treatments as my fulltime job.

So whether you are just starting out on your cancer journey (or finished this many years ago), or your loved one has received the diagnosis, I will work with you not only with a massage treatments but also as a safe place to talk through your journey and offer any support that I can, from somebody who has been where you are.  Or, if you're looking for a regular selfcare treatment or a one off for an ache/pain/tension, please give me a call to book your appointment.
